Who are we?

The James Madison University Men’s Club Volleyball team has been in existence for over 10 years and currently has 22 dedicated students on its roster. We are a completely student-operated and funded organization committed to playing competitive volleyball. We play in 8-10 tournaments throughout the year, including the EIVA South Regional Championships and NCVF Collegiate Club Volleyball Championships.

How has our season been going?

At the Dukes' Derrick Beckner Memorial Tournament both teams rallied together for winning records. The B team beat WVU B, EMU, and George Mason, and eventually lost to Team Jaairo who wenton the win the entire tournament. The A-team steamrolled their way to the semi-finals, overcoming WVU A, Richmond, VCU, Lords of Pound Town, NC State, and Tech A on the way. In the quarter-finals the A-team found themselves face-to-face with a familiar adversary, Tech A. JMU A prevailed in this very close match against the Hokies. Unfortunately they were overcome in the next match by PSU-A.

The dukes made a tenacious return to the court at Virginia Tech this weekend. Both teams played exceptionally well despite an early morning and grueling wait times between matches.  The B team rallied to extinguish the Liberty Flames in a  close 3-game match.  The A-team steamrolled their way to the finals but lost to Virginia Tech by 2 points in set 3.  Both teams played well and showed endurance in the face of sore muscles and questionable refereeing.
